Sept 2018: My First Solo Album in 10 Years, Reflections on A Whirlwind Year of Touring

When I first started telling you about this record it had been 7 years since my last solo record. Now it's been a solid decade.

My relationship with how long this has taken is...complicated. But I think now it rests somewhere between acceptance and "that seems about right."

As I reflect back on the year so far, I can easily close my eyes and see dreams coming true - Jackson Browne standing side stage in Australia intently listening to Mia, Dan and I play our tails off in front of thousands of people. I can just as easily see the blood test that sent me to the ultrasound lab that started me down a path of understanding what exactly a liver enzyme is and why mine might be off the charts.

My health is back to normal. Our daughter is growing up beautifully and we are expecting our second child next year.

Our community in Ojai continues to deepen. We built a studio in the backyard, the new music venues that have sprouted up in town are going strong and I simply cannot believe that there is so much incredible artistic talent in this valley we call home.
